What a pleasure dealing with these people. Supplier: Energy Alliance, as a sales/co-ordination team for Jacob Eco Energy. Survey: I had five over four months and only this company climbed on the roof and had a proper look at the electrics! Quote: Very fast, attentive and very reasonable.
Even better value for money now I've experienced their install. Questions: Answered immediately and knowledgeably, any time of day or night, throughout the FIT deadline scramble. Does nobody in this company sleep? Installation: Yesterday. I could have watched this well-oiled machine in action all day. Well, actually I did. Two electricians, up to five roofers (yes, real roofers).
The panels arrived first by courier, followed by the sparks, who spent an hour planning with me the best positions and routes - not the easiest plan for them, the best result for me. Fitting the inverter wasn't easy for them, but the chosen route gave me negligible DC losses, nothing unsightly and no disturbance to the house. The roofing team came next and worked flat-out to complete the job before dark. They really knew their stuff and although I wasn't up there, I know they use the best fitting system and take pride in sealing properly, unlike some other companies.
This is a roofing company which has become a PV supplier, so their experience is far better than the average PV supplier's. Certificate: received on the install day (and taken by hand this morning to FIT supplier, stamped and photocopied!) First generation day today, 3.9 KW in December with an overcast afternoon - I'm happy with that. Don't hesitate to use Energy Alliance / Jacob Eco Energy for a good price, brilliant service, real knowledge, and excellent value for money. We had 15 quotes and site visits from 6 suppliers. Our priorities were technical PV competence, but more important were roofing credentials. We also wanted a local company and a competitive price, though not necessarily the lowest price.
We wanted flexibility and advice on the specification. Jacob ticked all the boxes and fully lived up to their promises. When there was a minor issue with the inverter they dealt with it very promptly and professionally. All their staff, electrical and scaffolding contracters reached the same high standard.
